ESTERO— One of the largest shopping destinations in Southwest Florida, Miromar Outlets, is joining several other centers statewide in reopening May 4.

The plaza, according to a statement, will open for shopping, walking and dining in accordance per Gov. Ron DeSantis’ guidelines. “We know there are a lot of people who are looking forward to shopping, dining, walking around the mall and returning to some degree of normalcy,” says Jeff Staner, vice president and general manager of Miromar Outlets. “We have implemented a number of protocols to ease safety concerns.”

Announcements and signs throughout the mall, in Estero, will remind shoppers to keep a distance of at least 6 feet between others and avoid gathering in groups. Restrooms, benches, tables and other outdoor public areas will be cleaned and disinfected regularly, the release adds.

Indoor seating and retail stores will operate at 25% occupancy as stipulated by DeSantis. New operating hours are Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday noon to 6 p.m. for the time being, the release states. Store openings will be updated daily at MiromarOutlets.com.

“It’s very important that people continue to be diligent as well as respect other shoppers,” says Staner in the statement. “We want everyone to feel safe, comfortable and welcomed.”

Miromar Development Corp. owns the Miromar Outlets, in addition to several other projects and developments in Southwest Florida.
