Marketing, ad executive switches real estate brokerages

NAPLES — John R. Wood Properties named real estate industry veteran James Schnars head of marketing.

In the vice president role, Schnars will be responsible for overseeing and advancing all marketing and public relations strategies, according to a statement. That includes brand management, digital and print advertising and promotions, multimedia initiatives, marketing communications, multimillion-dollar budget management, collateral development and event planning. He will lead the company’s marketing division, which supports approximately 650 associates in 17 real estate offices from Marco Island to Sanibel/Captiva Islands, the release adds.

Schnars was previously a regional director of marketing for Premier Sotheby’s International Realty, according to his LinkedIn profile. He directed marketing, strategic planning and corporate training activities in that role. His background also includes extensive real estate marketing experience with developers including Lennar, WCI and Centex, as well as advertising agencies, the release states.
