FORT MYERS — Veteran Southwest Florida banking executive Jeff Fusco has been named top area leader for First Citizens Bank.

Fusco comes to First Citizens from Bank OZK, where was senior vice president and market leader for the Southwest Florida, according to a statement. At Raleigh, N.C.-based First Citizens, Fusco will oversee commercial, business and retail banking in the state and serve as a leader for market development efforts for the bank’s four branch locations in Southwest Florida, the release adds.

“Jeff brings strong business development, commercial banking, business banking, retail banking and strategic focus to his role with First Citizens,” First Citizens Bank Regional Executive Vice President Ron Sanchez says in the statement. “He’s extremely well suited to serve our customers in the market. We’re excited about him joining our bank and welcome the insight and leadership he brings.”

Prior to Bank OZK, Fusco held leadership roles with BankUnited, Fifth Third Bank and HSBC Group. During his career, he has focused strongly on deposit growth, loan growth, portfolio management and community involvement.

Founded in 1898 First Citizens Bank serves customers at more than 500 branches in 19 states. A wholly owned subsidiary of First Citizens BancShares Inc., it has more than $48 billion in assets.
