Construction firm expands its executive team

Firm hired new director of preconstruction for its Southwest Florida projects.

FORT MYERS — A firm that provides construction management, general contracting and consulting services has added a new director.

Nick Burkel joined Stevens Construction as the director of preconstruction services, company President Mark Stevens announced in a news release.

With 17 years of commercial pre-construction experience, Burkel will be responsible for developing preliminary to final estimates for all Southwest Florida projects, providing oversight for project conceptualization and constructability within the clients’ schedule and budget goals, the release says.

Throughout his career, Burkel has provided preconstruction services for $500 million in commercial construction throughout Florida with a specialization in health care, senior living, municipality and hospitality projects.

Stevens Construction has offices in Fort Myers, Tampa and Orlando, specializing in building health care, commercial and hospitality facilities. Other services include site and design team selection, budgeting, project scheduling, permitting, cost and quality control and warranty service.
