FORT MYERS — Construction has begun on a nonprofit organization’s training center in Fort Myers to educate practitioners on the best use and application of regenerative autologous biologics.

Seagate Development Group is building the 11,197-square-foot center for Gulf Coast Biologics Inc., at 4331 Veronica S. Shoemaker Blvd., Suite 2, according to a news release.

“We are very excited to be a part of the growth and expansion of this great local company,” says Matt Price, CEO of Seagate Development Group, in the release. “It is reassuring to see the local economy thriving and the increased confidence in the building industry throughout Southwest Florida.”

Designed with 15-foot-high ceilings, the release says the training center will include an auditorium, stage, sound system, video screen, stain-resistant carpet, modern lighting and fixtures, and numerous office spaces throughout. Adjacent to the training center, a manufacturing space will be equipped with injection mold and CNC machines to help bolster product manufacturing capabilities. The facility will also include a laboratory, examination rooms, an X-ray room and a clinic treatment room with a separate entrance and waiting room.

The release says Gulf Coast Biologics was established by EmCyte Corp. as a stand-alone educational entity with program courses structured to provide a better understanding of the benefits of regenerative medicine and its impact on patient outcomes.

The training center is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2020.
