TAMPA — Ron Christaldi, a partner with Tampa law firm Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick LLP, has been named to the Ybor City Development Corp. (YCDC) board of directors.

Christaldi has been a leading advocate to build a new stadium for the Tampa Bay Rays in Ybor City and helped found the Rays 2020 group that aims to keep baseball in the Tampa Bay region for generations to come.

“I am honored and excited to have the opportunity to bring new energy and ideas to our historic Ybor City,” Christaldi states in a press release. “We have great potential to expand economic development, tourism and business in the district, while carefully preserving Ybor’s unique character and charm.”

YCDC is a division of the City of Tampa's Economic & Urban Development Department.

Earlier this year, the release states, YCDC partnered with the Hillsborough County City-County Planning Commission to draft a new Ybor Vision 2020 plan with community input. The five-year action plan focuses upon market analysis, urban planning, transportation and infrastructure.
