TAMPA — Henry Schmitt, a former senior executive with tire giant Michelin North America, has joined Tampa-based Skyway Capital Markets, a boutique investment banking firm, as managing director.
Schmitt, according to a press release, will focus on the commercial tire market, light manufacturing and other middle-market industrial businesses, assisting companies with M&A activities, financing growth, and market consolidation on the buy or the sell side.
During his 33-year career at Michelin, the release states, Schmitt served in a variety of leadership roles, including president of Michelin Retread Technologies Inc. (MRTI), a position in which he oversaw the company’s retreading franchise business in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
“Henry’s superior industry expertise in the commercial tire market and light industrial will be a huge asset to our business and open up new opportunities for our firm," Skyway Capital Markets Chairman Marty Traber states in the release.
