BABCOCK RANCH — Developer Kitson & Partners has added a new member to its team of builders at Babcock Ranch, a new town under development in northeastern Lee and southeastern Charlotte counties.
The new entry, Divco Custom Homes, will build homes in the Lake Babcock Estates North and South neighborhoods within the 18,000-acre project, according to a statement.
For more than 35 years, Divco Custom Homes has built a portfolio of more than 1,200 luxury homes in nearly 60 Southwest Florida communities. Divco will begin construction of a fully furnished model this summer, the release adds.
“Whether we are designing and building our own models or working with a client to bring their dream home to reality, Divco is known for attention to detail and construction expertise,” says Divco owner and CEO Steve Kauffman in a statement. “Building in Babcock Ranch provides a unique opportunity to showcase our design/build approach in an innovative community that’s setting a new standard for home town living.”
Babcock Ranch, the nation’s first all solar-powered community, has nine homebuilders offering more than 50 designs for lifestyles ranging from condominiums and villas to single-family from 1,107 to 5,000 square feet. Half of the town’s 18,000-acre footprint is reserved for greenways, parks and lakes. Builders include Arthur Rutenberg Homes, Florida Lifestyle Homes, Fox Premier Builders, Homes by Towne, Lennar, Pulte Homes, Solara Homes and Stock Classic Homes. Prices range from the $190,000s to more than $1 million.
With retail centers and office and commercial space planned for residents’ convenience, a town center is already in place featuring medical services, a health club, retail, restaurants and a lakefront park. Babcock National, a new golf and lifestyle community within Babcock Ranch, is also under development.
