Airport sees record-high April passenger count

Nearly 1.2 million travelers marks all-time high for April at RSW

FORT MYERS — Passenger count at Southwest Florida International Airport in April set a new record for the month with a nearly 20% increase compared to April 2018. For the month, nearly 1.12 million passengers traveled through RSW, bringing the year-to-date total to 4.76 million, a 9.7% increase over the prior year. 

Delta Air Lines served the most passengers in April with 203,048 traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Southwest (166,635 passengers), Spirit (150,889), American (143,471) and JetBlue (133,676).

With 8,790 aircraft operations in April, RSW also saw a significant 11.4% increase in over April 2018. Page Field in Fort Myers saw a 25.8% increase in aircraft operations over April 2018 with 10,076.

Last year, RSW served nearly 9.4 million passengers and is among the top 50 U.S. airports for passenger traffic.
