LAKEWOOD RANCH — Commercial construction firm Halfacre Construction Co. recently finalized a new 54,667-square-foot corporate headquarters for national laboratory products distribution company Mercedes Scientific.
The 5-acre site is at 12210 Rangeland Parkway in Lakewood Ranch. It is part of the Collaboration Opportunities for Research and Exploration, or CORE research park, a 305-acre biotech industrial district, according to a statement.
The 28-foot tilt-wall building has exposed concrete walls, steel and mechanical systems, according to a press release. The two-story structure includes executive office space, a warehouse and a distribution facility.
Construction began in December 2017. Halfacre was the construction manager. Flad Architects and Stantec served as the design team.
Mercedes Scientific is a laboratory products distributor that sells equipment and disposable supplies to many health care markets, including reference labs, physician offices, pathology and hospitals in all 50 states.
