Lists are seemingly everywhere these days — from the grocery to home to daily work to-dos.
But while some of those lists are chores, the Business Observer’s Top 500 — back again for 2019 — is a gem of business information on the Gulf Coast, from Lakeland south to Naples. At its core, the publication is a ranking of the largest 500 companies in the region by revenue. That alone makes it a must-read for business leaders.
It’s also a lot more than that. The Top 500 provides details about the region’s fastest-growing companies, from giant corporations to small businesses. In addition to revenue, it includes each company’s number of employees, what kind of work it does, the top executive and more. Companies with a headquarters in Pasco, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Polk, Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, Lee and Collier are eligible.
Being in the Top 500 gives companies the chance to be included alongside regional giants such as Publix, Hertz, Chico’s and Rooms to Go. The ranking is also a key marketing tool that can be used to reel in potential customers and clients.
Another neat nugget? It’s free. There’s no cost to submit information for the Top 500 and no cost to be included. The Top 500 is scheduled to be published in August.
