SARASOTA — Regions Bank recently opened a new Southgate Sarasota branch as part of the bank's long-term growth plan across Florida.

The open design of the branch at 4034 S. Tamiami Trail does not include a traditional teller line, according to a press release. Instead of waiting to be called to a counter, when people walk into the branch, they are greeted by a local Regions banker.

“This new branch is a significant investment in the Sarasota community, and it is the latest example of how Regions is offering a more convenient banking experience that’s built around the needs of today’s customers,” says Gerhard Toth, Sarasota market executive for Regions, in a statement.

The branch is part of a growing number of locations offering Regions Video Banking. Video Banking ATMs allow customers to connect with a Regions Video Banker via live, two-way video. Along with processing most general transactions, Regions Video Bankers help customers with account maintenance and general questions during expanded hours.

"Through our local experience, combined with the resources of our entire company, we will be able to build on Regions’ legacy of service to the Sarasota area," says Lisa Heisner, Southgate Sarasota branch manager, in a statement.

Regions Financial Corp. has $129 billion in assets. It serves customers across the South, Midwest and Texas, and through its subsidiary, Regions Bank, operates approximately 1,500 banking offices and 2,000 ATMs.
