FORT MYERS — Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida promoted Doug Stewart, a 30-year veteran of diverse private, for-profit industry experience, to COO.
He is responsible for leadership and direction of all core business operations, finance, accounting, information technology, business services, corporate risk management and insurance, real estate and other key functions of the nonprofit, according to a statement. Stewart fills the role of former COO John Nadeau, who replaced Rick Evanchyk as president and CEO Jan. 1
Stewart has worked with Goodwill of Southwest Florida for six years, including his previous role as vice president of finance, the statement adds. The organization serves five counties in Southwest Florida, employing more than 700 and operating 27 retail stores to support its mission of helping people with disabilities or disadvantages become more independent.
Prior working with Goodwill Industries, Stewart was a business owner and franchise partner of a national services organization. His experience includes director of financial planning, vice president of strategic development, COO, vice president and president of finance and CFO for various organizations in the manufacturing, retail, financial services, real estate and high-net worth family management industries.
