Comcast NBCUniversal seeks startups in the connectivity, media and entertainment space to participate in an incubator program that could ultimately result in a partnership with Comcast partners and brands.

The program, Comcast NBCUniversal LIFT Labs Accelerator, will accept applications through April 7 for its second class from entrepreneurs across Florida, the company says in a statement.

The 13-week class will begin July 15 at the new Comcast Technology Center in Philadelphia. The program is powered by Techstars, a worldwide network that connects entrepreneurs with experts, mentors, alumni, investors, community leaders and corporations to grow their companies.

Comcast NBCUniversal and Techstars will select up to 12 participants who will work with mentors and product experts from across Comcast NBCUniversal’s businesses, the statement adds. The program seeks startups utilizing innovative technologies including advanced connectivity; internet of things; artificial intelligence; machine learning; blockchain; voice control; virtual, augmented, and mixed reality; and accessibility tech.

Accepted applicants will participate in custom workshops, training sessions and business meetings unique to the company and its LIFT Labs program. The accelerator will culminate in October with a “Demo Day,”, when the companies will pitch their businesses to hundreds of investors, mentors, Comcast leaders and members of the tech and startup communities.
