CAPE CORAL — Wright Construction Group of Fort Myers has put the finishing touches on construction of Cape Coral Fire Station 11 at 1038 Burnt Store Road. The new station will provide faster emergency response time to residents throughout Northwest Cape Coral.

“The addition of the fire station fills a big gap in safety and provides Cape Coral residents with a much needed service,” says Wright Construction Group President Fred Edman in a statement. “We are grateful to be a part of such an important project and to see the positive impact it has on the community.”

The 9,000-square-foot structure required more than six feet of fill material to raise it above flood elevation. The $3.6 million building features two 77-foot apparatus bays, seven bunk rooms that serve as sleeping quarters, durable finishes throughout, multiple layers of weather protection, a well and septic system, a 32,000-gallon storage tank to supplement the fire protection system, and a backup power generator.
