Area tech firm promotes executive to top post

David Wirta has been named president of managed IT services provider Vology.

CLEARWATER — Vology has promoted David Wirta, who joined the managed IT, security and cloud services company as chief revenue officer in 2017, to president.

In a press release, Clearwater-based Vology says Wirta will be responsible for leading the firm’s operations, sales, marketing, client success and solutions architect teams.

“Dave’s promotion to president of Vology is a recognition of his leadership and the transformation he has delivered during the past year," Vology founder and CEO Barry Shevlin states in the release. “With demonstrated ability to re-envision our overall go-to-market plan, strengthen our sales and marketing programs and bolster our partner and vendor strategies, we look forward to Dave’s leadership in providing service excellence to our diverse customer base and hyper growth for the future of the organization."

According to the release, Wirta has more than 25 years of executive experience. Prior to joining Vology, he served as CEO of Greenway Health.
