Fast-growing grocery chain plans additional area stores

TAMPA — Sprouts Farmers Market will open two new locations in the Tampa Bay area in the second half of 2019.

According to a press release, the Phoenix-based chain of specialty grocery stores is coming to Riverview and New Port Richey as part of a 13-store expansion nationwide.

Sprouts — whose revenue topped $4.66 billion in 2018, up from $4.06 billion in 2017 — already operates several stores in Florida. It opened a store in Clearwater in January and a store in Naples in February. It has also announced plans to expand in Tampa and Seminole.

By the end of the year, the release states, Sprouts will operate 340 stores in 22 states.
