TAMPA — Humana Inc. plans to hire 124 full-time customer service personnel at its offices in Tampa and St. Petersburg.

In a press release, the health plan provider attributes the hiring spree to the growth of its Medicare Advantage membership and managed care program for Medicaid recipients in Florida.

The inbound contact representatives will offer phone support to Humana’s individual Medicare, Medicaid and long-term members, handling customer service and claims processing inquiries, the release states.

Humana, a Fortune 100 company with 2017 revenue in excess of $53 billion, employs more than 4,100 people in the Tampa Bay region, making it the company’s second-largest workforce market in the country, second only to its corporate headquarters in Louisville.
