Airport sets record for September passenger traffic

St. Pete-Clearwater International sees a 21% jump over 2017’s numbers.

ST. PETERSBURG — St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport welcomed 121,192 passengers in September, representing a 21% increase over the same month last year.

According to a press release, it was the busiest September in the history of the airport. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 13%.

St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport has also added two new destinations: Albany, N.Y., via Allegiant Air; and Winnipeg, Manitoba, via Flair Airlines, a new low-cost international carrier. Service to Albany begins Dec. 12 while the Winnipeg route will launch Dec. 15.

Service to and from Toronto, via Sunwing Airlines, resumes on Nov. 2, the release states.
