FORT MYERS — Gray Davis, agency executive/senior vice president of McGriff Insurance Services of Fort Myers, was recently honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by The Uncommon Friends Foundation. He served as chairman of the board of directors of the organization from 2008 to 2015.

Davis was instrumental in raising funds to build the Gale McBride Pavilion at The Burroughs Home & Gardens in 2015 and in establishing the Hilliard Student Scholarships at Florida Gulf Coast University.

The nonprofit Uncommon Friends Foundation works to build character among youth and business leaders. Through character education, business ethics programs, scholarships and historic preservation of the Burroughs property, the foundation continues the values of Fort Myers businessman Jim Newton and his friends Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Harvey Firestone, Dr. Alexis Carrel and Charles Lindburgh.
