PUNTA GORDA — National low-cost airline leader Allegiant Air announced new nonstop service from Charlotte County to Nashville, beginning June 7.

The flights, from Punta Gorda Airport to Nashville International Airport, will operate twice weekly and year-round, according to a statement. An introductory offer on the flights offers one-way fares for as low as $48, the release adds.

Allegiant now has nonstop service to 41 destinations from the Punta Gorda Airport.

“Allegiant is excited to announce this new service from our newest cities, giving Nashville-area travelers a convenient, nonstop option to visit southwest Florida,” Allegiant senior vice president of commercial Lukas Johnson says in the release. “We look forward to providing our new customers great low fares and friendly service to the Fort Myers area and continuing to provide economic growth in Punta Gorda.”
