Airport unveils three new destinations

The new flights will connect Fort Myers with Dallas, St. Louis and Wisconsin.

FORT MYERS — Sun Country Airlines will begin service to three new seasonal nonstop destinations between Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers this fall. New destinations will include Madison, Wisc. (MSN), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and St. Louis, Mo. (STL).

Sun Country is a low-cost airline headquartered in Eagon, Minn., a suburb of Minneapolis-St. Paul and is based at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport. Its primary focus has been flying Minnesotans to warmer destinations such as Florida and Mexico during the winter months. In the summer months, the airline flies passengers between the Twin Cities and the East and West coasts. 

It has recently expanding into new markets, and operates scheduled and charter flights to destinations in the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica and the Caribbean.

Founded in 1983 with a single Boeing 727-200 aircraft, Sun Country currently flies to 44 destinations, serving 16 cities year-round.
