TAMPA — Riverwalk Place, a 50-story, mixed-use tower planned for downtown Tampa, has landed Thom Filicia, star of the hit TV show "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," as its interior designer.

According to a press release, Filicia will design a range of interior spaces across the tower, including the look and feel of the residential entrances, lobby, condominium floor plans, residential fixtures and “sky lobby” on the 20th floor overlooking Tampa Bay.

Filicia has collaborated with Oprah Winfrey and designed spaces for a wide range of clients, including Tina Fey, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Delta Air Lines, Jennifer Lopez, W Hotels, David Bowie and numerous other marquee names in the worlds of finance, sports, media, fashion, entertainment and hospitality. He also contributed his interior design skills to the Biscayne Beach condo tower in Miami.

"The goal of the Riverwalk Place project is to create a luxurious city club atmosphere with a sophisticated fusion of rich materials and unparalleled amenities set in a beautifully designed and thoughtfully curated interior,” Filicia states in the release. “Riverwalk Place is redefining the Tampa skyline and setting the bar for a cultivated and cultured downtown lifestyle.”

Filicia will also play a leading role in designing condominium spaces throughout the $350 million tower, which is being developed by Tampa-based Feldman Equities and West Palm Beach-based Two Roads Development.
