Officials to break ground on $16 million cancer center

The Florida Cancer Specialists center will allow patients to receive chemotherapy, national clinical trials, physician visits and laboratory services.

LAKEWOOD RANCH — Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute will break ground on a comprehensive cancer center in Lakewood Ranch July 30. 

The $16 million cancer center will be completed in summer 2019, according to a press release. The center will be near the corner of State Road 70 and Lakewood Ranch Boulevard. It will serve Manatee County residents.

The new comprehensive center will allow patients to receive a variety of services and treatments under one roof, including chemotherapy, national clinical trials, physician visits and laboratory services, the statement says.

Physicians for the facility include Dr. Janice Eakle,  Dr. Amir Harandi, Dr. Fadi Kayali and Dr. Miguel Pelayo.
