Airport adds nonstop service to Miami

American Airlines will include twice-daily seasonal flights between Southwest Florida International and Miami International airports.

FORT MYERS — American Airlines will start twice-daily nonstop seasonal service between Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) and Miami International Airport beginning Dec. 19. 

The airline currently offers service between RSW and JFK Airport in New York, Atlanta, Seattle, Washington, D.C., Newark, San Francisco and Boston.

In May, American Airlines served 107,568 passengers at RSW out of a total of 668,665 among all airlines for the month. Delta Air Lines led the month with 177,028 passengers traveling to and from the airport.
