FORT MYERS — Neal Communities, one of the more prolific homebuilders in the region, has purchased a 24.11-acre parcel in Fort Myers.
The parcel, south of Penzance Road and west of Interstate 75 and the Six Mile Cypress parkway, is for Windsong, a new community, according to a statement. The property will be developed into a gated enclave of 104 paired villas with a British West Indies influence, the release adds. The community will feature a recreation center with a pavilion, pool and spa, bathrooms, an outdoor grill and a dog park.
“This gated community will offer potential homebuyers with an active lifestyle a myriad of local amenity options,” says Michael Greenberg, Southwest Florida regional president for Neal Communities, in the statement.
The price of the land wasn't immediately available in property records. Officials with Lakewood Ranch-based Neal Communities declined to comment on the cost of the land. The parcel is across the street from the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve and is one mile from the first Whole Foods in Lee County, under construction on the corner of Daniels and Cypress.
Neal Communities set an all-time annual sales record in 2017 with 1,177 homes sold and 1,183 homes closed statewide.
