BONITA SPRINGS — Construction was recently completed on Altaira, a 21-story luxury residential tower in The Colony Golf & Bay Club in Bonita Springs.
The Estero-based office of Suffolk Construction oversaw the project, for Lennar, according to a release. When it broke ground in 2015, under WCI Communities — which Lennar acquired in 2016 — Altaira was among the first towers to begin construction in nearly eight years in Southwest Florida.
Altaira includes what the developers call 75 Sky Homes, which features about 3,300 to 3,500 square feet of living space, depending on the floor plan, the release states. The tower features 19 residential floors, each with four residences per floor. The residences feature hurricane-rated, solar-tinted expanses of exterior vision glass and floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that open to the terraces. Amenities include a fitness center, clubroom, a resort-style pool with a fire pit and barbeque area, and a rooftop terrace.
“By implementing target value design and a continuous value analysis process, our team was able to deliver a guaranteed maximum price with a variance of less than 1% from the design-development budget,” Suffolk Vice President of Operations Josh Christensen says in the statement.
Construction of the building was aided by high-tech building information modeling, known as BIM.
