Business incubator welcomes four new startups

TAMPA — Following a successful inaugural year, the Florida-Israel Business Accelerator (FIBA) has selected four more companies for the first round of its 2018 program.

FIBA's latest cohort includes companies in the digital health, ecologically conscious construction, cybersecurity and medical device industries, according to a statement.

The startups sent key management representatives to Tampa recently, where they will work with FIBA staff and connect with potential investors, suppliers and customers in a bid to improve their sales and gain a foothold in U.S. markets. Following their four-week stint in Tampa, the Israeli executives will return in June for two weeks. The companies include:

• BetterCare, which develops a real-time communication and care management platform for caregivers, nurses and professional staff in order to improve care at skilled nursing facilities;

• ECOncrete, which provides science-based construction solutions that are designed to decrease the ecological footprint of concrete structures like ports, breakwaters and piers, while improving their structural performance;

• Nucleon, which represents the next generation of identifying and analyzing cyber threats; and

• UC-Care, which develops, manufactures and sells two products designed to improve detection and treatment of prostate cancer.
