Want a barbecue pulled pork sandwich but don't want to leave home?

Bite Squad can help with that.

The national food delivery service company has expanded on the west coast of Florida, adding new service in Sarasota and Bradenton last August. It also added 50 additional restaurants to that delivery area recently, bringing the total to 130 restaurants.

Bite Squad Vice President of Marketing Craig Key tells Coffee Talk the company started 2017 with no coverage on the west coast of the Sunshine State. “It's been a really strong growth area for us in the last calendar year,” he says. “Our focus is really trying to fine tune each of those markets.”

In October 2017, Bite Squad acquired 17 local restaurant delivery companies to expand its footprint. Those included a handful on Florida's west coast — Ashley's Food in Sarasota; Doorstep Delivery in Tampa/St. Petersburg and Sarasota; FoodNow in Tampa/St. Petersburg and Grub Cab in Fort Myers.

And the company is always looking to grow even more. “We want to serve as many customers as we can,” Key says. That expansion, he says, could be delivered through both organic growth and acquisitions.

Bite Squad — founded in Minneapolis in 2012 — now partners with about 10,000 restaurants in more than 30 cities nationwide, according to a statement. The company offers customers food delivery from local restaurants as well as national chains. Bite Squad markets itself as a convenience for hungry consumers and as a way for restaurants to boost business.
