Good things come in threes for Lee Health’s Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida.
First, for the third straight year, the hospital has been named a “Top Children’s Hospital” by The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit working toward improvement in quality and safety of American health care.
Second, Golisano is one of only three children’s hospitals nationwide to achieve the recognition for three consecutive years.
And third, the hospital is one of three children’s hospitals in Florida — and one of 13 nationally — to earn the distinction that highlights each hospital's highest commitment to safety and quality care of children. Others with that distinction include Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville and Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.
The selection of Top Children's Hospitals is based on the results of the 2018 Leapfrog Hospital Survey, which considers performance across many areas of hospital care including inpatient care management, medication safety and infections and injuries.
Since moving in 2017 to its new state-of-the-art facility next to HealthPark Medical Center, Golisano Children's Hospital has received multiple national accolades. In addition to being honored by Leapfrog for three consecutive years, the hospital was named as the "Most Beautiful Hospital in the U.S." by Soliant, a national health care staffing agency, earlier this year.
