Airport scores another record month

Passenger traffic up again for July at Southwest Florida International Airport.

FORT MYERS — The year-over-year monthly gains at Southwest Florida International Airport continued in July, when the airport experienced a 5.8% increase in total passengers over July 2017. 

During July, 561,039 passengers traveled through RSW compared to 530,428 the same month last year. In addition, total passenger traffic year-to-date is up 5.2% with a total of  6.1 million travelers passing through the airport. Total passenger count in 2017 was 8.84 million.

Delta Air Lines served the most passengers at RSW in July with 137,944 traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Southwest (113,633), American (98,486), JetBlue (68,957) and United (46,648).

The gains occurred despite fewer aircraft operations. The airport had 4,721 operations in July, a decrease of 2.2% compared to July 2017.
