When children are undergoing treatment for life-threatening illness, few things are more comforting than the company of their families in colorful, whimsical surroundings. Such was the purpose in the design of Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, which opened in 2017 in Fort Myers.
Mission accomplished: the Lee Health hospital has been recognized by Soliant, a leading specialty health care staffing provider and part of the Adecco Group, which named it the Most Beautiful Hospital in the U.S. for 2018.
Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida treats more than 25,000 patients annually. It houses 128 patient beds in rooms designed to help patients and their families feel at home.
“The community came together to make Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida a reality, and we are humbled to receive this national honor,” says Armando Llechu, chief administrative officer of Golisano Children’s Hospital, in a release.
Golisano Children’s Hospital is the third Lee Health hospital recognized as one of Soliant’s Top 20 Most Beautiful Hospitals in the U.S. It joins HealthPark Medical Center (No. 5 in 2014 and No. 18 in 2016) and Gulf Coast Medical Center (No. 13 in 2013 and No. 2 in 2014.)
