SARASOTA — A luxury condo tower could be coming to an upscale residential district near downtown Sarasota.
The project, named Evolution, is planned as an eight-story building with 20 units and a rooftop terrace, according to a statement. At 111 Golden Gate Point, the project is expected to break ground in the first quarter of 2019, the release adds.
The developer of the project, WB Golden Point LLC, filed an application with Sarasota officials on the tower late last month, according to a story in the Sarasota Observer, sister paper of the Business Observer. The property was previously going to be a four-story, eight-unit townhome development called Allure.
Designed by DSDG Architects LLC, Evolution will offer each residence floor-to-ceiling windows, large terraces and a private garage, according to the statement. Residences will range from 2,071 square feet to 3,519-square-foot penthouse units. Prices will run from $1.3 million to $3 million and up for penthouse units.
An on-site sales office, say the project developers, is expected to be open by the end of 2018, where guests can also reserve pre-construction units.
“We’ve had an eye on this beautiful lot, the largest remaining redevelopment opportunity on Golden Gate Point, for quite a while and now is the perfect time to convert the space into luxury homes,” says WB Golden Gate Point LLC Principal Wojciech Zukiewicz in the statement. “We’re very excited to be working with DSDG Architects to create something truly unique for the Sarasota luxury landscape.”
