WESLEY CHAPEL — Engineering and project management firm UC Synergetic plans to grow its presence in Pasco County with a new 19,000-square-foot office and 25 new engineering jobs.

The Fort Mill, S.C.-based company, which already employs 80 people in the county, received assistance from the Pasco Economic Development Council that will help it expand its regional operations center in the ComPark 75 business park near Wesley Chapel.

"Pasco County's business community is growing along with our economy," says Pasco County Commission Chairman Mike Moore in a statement. "It makes sense UC Synergetic wants to expand in Pasco, they will have access to a great workforce."

UC Synergetic has 41 offices with 1,600 employees working in 40 states. The company specializes in engineering and project management services in the electric and communications utility industries. UC Synergetic is a subsidiary of Pike Corp., a provider of outsourced construction, repair and engineering services to utilities in the United States.

"Companies are recognizing Pasco's major north-south commuter arteries and that's crucial in recruiting and retaining a skilled workforce," says Pasco Economic Development Council President and CEO Bill Cronin in a statement. "Success stories like UC Synergetic's experience in Pasco help us tell the story to others looking to move their companies here."
