PORT CHARLOTTE — Allegiant Air officials have announced the design team behind its ambitious Sunseeker Resort hotel/condo project.
The airline also opened registration for prospective condominium buyers at Sunseeker Resort, according to a statement. The project, encompassing 20 acres of waterfront land on the Peace River in Port Charlotte, is planned as a five-star resort hotel and up to nine condo towers, in addition to an array of restaurant, bar and retail concepts — including an on-site grocery store and pharmacy, a marina and a property-spanning resort pool, the release adds.
The design team includes:
• Las Vegas-based Steelman Partners will be the project's design architect. The firm has developed more than 4,000 integrated resort designs worldwide, including Galaxy Sky in Macau, China's Haitang Bay resort and JW Marriott Las Vegas;
• Orlando-based L2 Studios Inc. was named architect of record. The firm's current integrated resort projects include The Grove Resort and Spa in Orlando and Tradewinds Resort in St. Pete Beach;
• Naples-based builder Manhattan Construction Group and Charlotte County-based Florida Premier Contractors will handle the construction side.

On the registration side, the company says people interested in a condo purchase options may officially register as a prospective buyer and place a fully-refundable $5,000 deposit. The offer, which includes creating a mySunseeker profile at www.SunseekerResorts.com, is limited to the first 2,700 prospective buyers.
