Have a box of Halloween decorations but no place to put it? Or golf clubs that need to be packed away until next season?

A new Naples-based storage company has solutions for just such scenarios.

The company, Box It To Me, is promoting itself as Southwest Florida's first valet storage company. (There are similar businesses in other parts of the country.)

“The idea came from the fact that, myself included, a lot of people I know live in smaller condos, and we have limited storage available, especially for seasonal things like beach chairs and paddleboards,” says co-founder Jesse Adams. “That was an issue I was having and some of my friends were having.”

Adams and his wife, Jennifer, started Naples-based Box It To Me in August. “We couldn't really justify the cost of even the smallest storage unit,” he says. And he thought there might be others “in the same boat.”

For $7 a month, Box It To Me customers can fill a plastic box that's 27 inches long, 17 inches wide and 13 inches high. Items that don't fit in a box can be stored, too. If one person can carry it, storage is $15 a month. If it takes two people to carry it, it's $30 a month.

Box It To Me will pick up items for free to take them to the warehouse to be stored. When customers want their items back, employees will return them for a delivery charge of $25 or $60 for two-person-carry items.

Customers are split about 50-50 — half snowbirds and half full-time residents, Jesse Adams says, and he plans to market Box It To Me to businesses that need extra space for documents and files. The company serves a core area of Naples, Bonita Springs and Estero, where Jesse Adams says there are “plenty of customers here keeping us busy.”
