NAPLES — Manhattan Construction Group promoted Larry Rooney, the fifth generation of his family to work in the business, to president.

One of the largest companies in the region, Manhattan serves the commercial building, civil, pipeline and specialty construction markets through its regional offices in Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas and Washington, D.C., according to a statement. It also provides construction services internationally in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. The company, with dual headquarters in Naples and Tulsa, Okla., had $1.47 billion in revenue in 2016 and has some 1,500 full-time employees.

Rooney's construction experience includes roles in field supervision, project management, estimating and pre-construction, with a total revenue portfolio in excess of $1.5 billion over his career. After working in Chicago for Turner Construction Co, Rooney joined the family business in Manhattan's Houston regional office in 2010.

Recent Manhattan Construction projects include a 120-unit condo tower in Naples; renovations and improvements at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa; multiple buildings at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers; and the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Texas.
