SARASOTA — Sarasota attorney Thomas Luzier was voted chair of the Florida Real Estate Commission.
According to a press release, he will lead the commission's work to administer and enforce Florida's real estate license law. The commission's seven members represent communities statewide. Gov. Rick Scott appoints the members to serve four-year terms.
Luzier has served on the commission since 2015. He is one of the commission's two non-realtor members. His fellow commission members voted him into the chair position after he was vice-chair.
“I am honored to serve the State of Florida and its nearly 390,000 licensees as chair of the Florida Real Estate Commission,” says Luzier in a statement. “The depth of experience of my fellow commissioners is exceptional. Together with the Division of Real Estate's accomplished staff, we will continue doing the State's work as fairly and efficiently as we are able.”
Luzier is a board-certified real estate lawyer and shareholder of Dunlap & Moran.
