TAMPA — St. Louis-based pharmacy benefit management company Express Scripts will acquire Tampa-based workers' compensation services and customized pharmacy company myMatrixx.

The companies will merge capabilities to make enhanced pharmacy services available to workers' compensation clients and injured patients, according to a press release. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The combined workers' compensation team will be led by current myMatrixx CEO Artemis Emslie.

“myMatrixx's industry knowledge, technology and client experience have put us at the forefront of pharmacy services for workers' compensation programs," says Emslie in a statement. "With the demand for customized pharmacy solutions only growing, now is the right time to partner with Express Scripts and leverage the size and scale of the nation's largest PBM to benefit our clients."

According to a press release, Express Scripts has more than 83 million members.
