Gov. Rick Scott spent the past few weekdays of the 2017 Legislative Session on the road, in what his office dubbed the “Fighting for Florida's Future” tour.
The 10-city tour included three stops on the Gulf Coast, in Tampa, Sarasota and Naples. At each stop, Scott publicly called out state legislators who went against some of his budget priorities — specifically those who voted to cut funding at Visit Florida and Enterprise Florida. “Our economy is on a roll,” says Scott in a statement, “and now is not the time to take our foot off the gas.”
In Sarasota, Scott stopped by PropLogix, a fast-growing property research firm. In Naples, Scott toured the 40,000-square-foot headquarters of Best Home Services. Scott was at Best Home Services earlier this year, too, when he presented co-owners Chadd and Keegan Hodges with the Business Ambassador Award in honor of their job creation and expansion.
Best Home Services is a full-service, residential heating, air conditioning, electrical and plumbing company, operating in Southwest Florida since 1980. It has more than 140 employees, with satellite offices in Fort Myers and Sarasota.
