FORT MYERS — Lee Health promoted Lisa Sgarlata to chief patient care officer, Dr. K. Alex Daneshmand to chief patient safety officer and Alex Greenwood to vice president of Lee Health - Coconut Point.

Sgarlata will assume the role of chief patient care officer on June 1 when Donna Giannuzzi retires. Sgarlata has more than 25 years of experience in health care, according to a press release. Most recently, she was associate chief patient care officer of Lee Health and chief administrative officer for Lee Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Daneshmand will also start in his new position June 1. He is now system medical director of pediatric clinical and quality services at Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida, which is part of Lee Health.

Greenwood is orthopedic service line director for Lee Health. He will continue in that role when he begins his new position as vice president of Lee Health - Coconut Point. The Coconut Point facility will open in 2018.

“Lee Health is proud to promote from within,” says Chief Operating Officer Dr. Larry Antonucci in a statement. “We are very fortunate to have many loyal employees who know our system well, commit to our mission, vision and values, and work hard every day to propel their careers, and our health system, forward.”
