BRADENTON — Behavioral health care and addictions service provider Centerstone has named Melissa Larkin-Skinner CEO of its Florida operations.

Larkin-Skinner has worked at Centerstone, previously Manatee Glens, since 1997. During her time at the organization, she served in various roles, including chief clinical officer. She has been the nonprofit's interim CEO since December 2016, when previous CEO Mary Ruiz retired.

“Melissa has been an invaluable part of our organization for two decades, and I am delighted to have her become our Florida CEO,” Centerstone CEO David Guth Jr. says in a statement. “She has a unique combination of clinical and operational expertise.”

Larkin-Skinner is a licensed mental health counselor with nearly 25 years of experience in mental health and addictions treatment programs.

Centerstone is the tenth largest employer in Manatee County, according to a press release. It provides mental health and addiction services to more than 15,000 people a year in the area. The organization has nearly 200 locations across Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee.
