NAPLES — Encore Bank has hired Christopher Houtchens to be an executive vice president and chief credit officer.

Houtchens brings more than 45 years of banking experience to his new job, mostly with institutions in Southwest Florida, according to a statement. Most recently, he worked as executive vice president, regional senior credit officer for the Atlanta market for an institution with in excess of $5.6 billion in total assets. While in that role, he supervised more than a dozen commercial relationship managers.

“Throughout his career within the banking industry, Chris has seen economic periods characterized by growth, decline and upheaval, and always succeeded by keeping his community and clients top of mind,” says Tom Ray, Encore Bank's CEO.

Encore Bank maintains six locations, including two in Naples and one each in Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Port Charlotte and Sun City Center.
