Shaun Amarnani, recently named senior counsel for the St. Petersburg office of Trenam Law, comes to the firm with a unique resume: In the past four years he's held top level positions in city government in both Tampa and St. Petersburg.

In Tampa, he was an assistant city attorney, where he worked in land use, development and the construction services group from 2013 to March 2016. He gave legal advice to the Tampa City Council on land use rezoning hearings and alcohol permitting hearings, among other topics. And in St. Petersburg he was the economic development coordinator for more than a year. In that role he worked under St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman to develop policy, negotiate development agreements and bring businesses to the city.

In addition to those roles, Amarnani operates a blog, St. Pete is for Tech, which highlights startup news in town. “We try to educate the community on what's going on in the tech scene,” Amarnani tells Coffee Talk.

Amarnani joins Trenam's real estate practice and technology group. “I like the culture and caliber of the attorneys,” he says. “I'm humbled by the opportunity to work with them.”
