FORT MYERS — Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida hired Armando Llechu as chief administrative officer.

In his new role, Llechu will oversee the hospital's strategic initiatives, manage day-to-day operations and will be responsible for its overall performance, according to a press release.

He was previously vice president of clinical operations at Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami.

“Armando brings a wealth of experience in health care leadership,” says Lee Health CEO Dr. Larry Antonucci. “He has a strong background in strategic planning, Lean facilitation, process optimization, quality improvement, financial analysis and more. We are excited to have Armando join our team and lead Golisano Children's Hospital into the future in its new, state-of-the-art facility.”

Lee Health opened the new Golisano Children's Hospital in May. The 300,000-square-foot facility has 128 beds. It was previously in the adjacent HealthPark Medical Center.
