NAPLES — Bonita Springs resident Denise Ann Clark Carroll, 55, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for embezzling $370,765.51 from the air conditioning company where she worked as a bookkeeper for 18 years.
According to a press release from the Office of the State Attorney of the 20th Judicial Circuit of Florida Stephen Russell, Carroll entered a plea of no contest to charges of scheme to defraud and first degree grand theft. The offenses occurred from Dec. 31, 2008 to April 6, 2012.
The statement also says an examination of the company checking account and credit card revealed the embezzlement. Carroll must make full restitution to the company as part of her sentence.
