Nonprofit elects three board members

FORT MYERS — Fort Myers-based nonprofit Valerie's House has elected three new board members to its board of directors — IberiaBank Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager Talisha Faber, Max Haney of Risk Management Insurance and Spada Salon & Day Spa owner Judy Williams.

Valerie's House helps children and families work through grief following the death of a loved one.

Other board members include New York Life Financial Advisor Donna Caruso, Royal Shell Real Estate Realtor Joy Gugliuzza, City of Fort Myers Assistant City Attorney Kristalyn Loson, Markham Norton Mosteller Wright & Company Certified Public Accountant Victoria Loyola, Kellie Nolan McCartney of Be Brilliant Marketing, Mullins Memorial Funeral Home CEO Shannon Mullins, Mehta Communications CEO Christina Mehta Prendiville, Endeavor Innovative Workspaces CEO Bjorn Rosinus, Arthrex Inc. Engineering Executive Scott Sherman, RMG LLC Senior Partner Mary Silverstein, community volunteer Melodie Turish and Siesta Pebble Inc. CEO Michelle Graham.

According to a press release, Valerie's House serves 105 children and their caregivers from Lee, Collier, Charlotte and Hendree counties. It was founded by Angela Melvin and named after her mother, Valerie Melvin, who was killed in a car accident in 1987.
