NAPLES — Valerie's House, a nonprofit that helps children and families work through grief following the death of a loved one, is now enrolling children in classes in its new Naples location.

Support groups and activities will be held on the campus of The Village School, 6000 N. Goodlette Frank Road, from 6:30 pm - 8:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month, starting March 9. Valerie's House programs use art and music to help youth identify, express and process their grief, according to a statement. Adults who have lost spouses and children and are raising children in grief also attend and are supported through the program.

Valerie's House opened its first location in Fort Myers in January 2016 and currently serves 93 children and their caregivers in Fort Myers and Cape Coral, the release adds.

“Our families have been anticipating our expansion into Collier County for a long time,” says Valerie's House founder and President Angela Melvin in the release. “The partnership with The Village School and North Naples Church is going to help us reach even more children who are grieving the loss of a loved one and need our support.”
