ESTERO — Jeffrey Foland, named senior executive vice president and chief revenue officer at Hertz in January 2015, has left the company.

Foland stepped down from his post Feb. 10. He left after new CEO Kathy Marinello “announced structural changes in North America to facilitate her direct interaction with senior managers and to fast-track decision-making to accelerate performance improvement,” the company says in public filings.

Foland had been the chief marketing and strategy officer at United Airlines. Former Hertz CEO John Tague, who also recruited Foland to United Airlines, brought Foland to the Estero-based car rental giant.

Marinello is overseeing a turnaround attempt at Hertz, in a three-year struggle to gain market share and overcome internal leadership and accounting issues.
