SARASOTA — One of the largest builders in Southwest Florida, Gates Construction, has opened an office in Sarasota.
The new Sarasota office for Bonita Springs-based Gates is at 2 North Tamiami Trail, Suite 204. The office will “allow the firm to better serve the Southwest and Central Florida areas,” company officials say in a statement.
A full service general contracting firm that provides construction management and design-build services, Gates also has offices in North Carolina and the Republic of Panama.
The company was founded in 1993, first as Gates McVey. A few years later founder Todd Gates bought out his business partner, Jim McVey, and led the company through the boom and then the downturn. The company has experience in commercial, hospitality, institutional, industrial and multifamily construction projects.
